“ Lager heads was a decent place to eat. Cool environment, nice outdoor area, but the chairs were falling apart and need replaced. We came to explore their beer, assuming by the name that they brewed their own beer, but they do not. We got the loaded fries to start, which tasted great. The fries were perfect, soft on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. I got the mahi sandwich, which was okay, nothing to write home about. There was too much bread for the small piece of fish, and it needed more sauce. My mom got the southwest salad, which she said was really good and a huge portion. My husband got the crab stuffed tuna, which he said was well cooked and seasoned, but needed more sauce to be able to flavor the plain rice with. My dad got the beef tips, which he said were standard beef tips like you get anywhere. He did say that the teriyaki sauce was really good and had a good amount to coat the rice. The wait staff was kind, and we had about a 30 minute wait to get a table. The bathrooms were clean as well. ”
“ Went here for lunch on a Saturday. The waitress Rachel was knowledgeable, professional, & nice. Affordable prices Nice view of the beach Tasty & affordable food The mocktail wasn't great. I tried two different ones and wasn't a fan of both. I know it's doesn't have any liquor but since it's a mocktail it should have some craft to it. Instead, it tasted like cheap juice & simple syrup. I do wish they had music playing. A versatile selection of songs would have been the cherry on top. Overall, it was good. I will be returning. ”
“ Great little spot right off the beach with a great overall beer selection. You can do flights to get a nice sampling of the brews, and very reasonably priced to be on the beach as well. Good service form the bar and god conversation about the beers on tap with the knowledgeable bartender I spoke with. Overall a nice laid back beach bar that I will definitely visit again when back in that area. Side note: I didn't eat but the food looked great as well. ”
“ Had an amazing meal here of fried shrimp, fish and chips, pickle fries, collard greens and string beans! Everything was outstanding! Our server, Victoria, was attentive, sweet, helpful and so pleasant! Such a fun atmosphere on the water! Will definitely go back when in the area! ”
“ Lager Heads is a solid American food spot right on the VA Beach boardwalk you won't be disappointed in. We were able to choose our own seating as we arrived early on a weekday and enjoy a view and the sunshine. When we traveled through the restaurant we noted the vibe was as expected: boardwalk sports bar. Our waiter was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu and local brews. We chose a creamsicle crush, watermelon crush, pickle fries, buffalo wings, and knockout burger. The drinks were great, strong but not too sweet. Pickle fries were crispy and not greasy or soft; i loved the green chili aioli. The buffalo wings were good, these are baked not coated. The knockout burger was great except a bit greasy. It has a Philly cheesesteak inspo to it. All in all, we'd come back and try other menu items and the service and personality of staff would keep us coming back! ”
“ Staying in town for a tournament and due to weather wanted something within walking distance to our hotel. Found Lager Heads via yelp and a group of six of us all went for lunch. Place was really nice inside, loved the open kitchen look and expo area being clean and modern. Nice size bar and right amount of seating. Our service was great, attentive server, quick food delivery and drinks constantly refilled. She was very friendly as well. We all got something different and everyone liked what they got. Some of us saw huge Cobb salads coming out and wish we'd have gotten one lol. My hangover burger was cooked to perfection, super juicy and well seasoned. Their ranch was great for fry dipping. I would definitely come back here when in town! ”
“ We stopped by Lager Heads located at 3315 Atlantic Avenue to grab a bite to eat. It's hard to beat the view of the Atlantic Ocean here. It was very calm today and it looked like you could see for miles. They weren't busy so we were able to score a couple of seats at Horseshoe shaped bar, overlooking the boardwalk. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We decided to try the chicken wings with their hot sauce. When they arrived, it took my breath away, they were piping hot and the aroma was wafting out everywhere. Once they were cool enough to touch I grabbed the drumstick and took a bite. I was very pleasantly surprised by the crunch and the amazing flavor in these delicious wings. They were cooked perfectly with the inside hot and the outside crunchy and then tossed with the beautiful sauce. These were some of the best wings I have ever had, bar none, and I'm someone who knows good wings! I'm already planning my next visit here because I will be thinking about these amazing wings for quite a while. ”
“ Very impressed! Their Cobb salad is huge and looks SO good. I saw a lady at the table in front of us order this salad and it was gigantic and loaded to the brim with ingredients. They also had some nice mocktails on the menu (appreciated by this non-drinker) and will be coming back for the salad and peach tea fizz! Yum! We stopped in on a bike ride and had a light lunch with live music over the weekend with my stepson before he moves away for grad school. Tear. We chose this spot because they almost always have live music at the center stage on the sidewalk between this and the bar across the street. As expected, on a Sunday afternoon - they did! Service was slow but friendly. It took a long time to get our food after our order was taken and our server basically didn't show up for 15 minutes after our food was delivered (by someone else) to see if we needed anything. We got a Cowboy burger which is a huge burger with BBQ sauce and cheese on Texas toast. I didn't try it but stepson said it's a win. We also got a basket of fries on the side which was huge for only $3.50 and a small cup of soup which rotates daily and was a delicious brisket stew. I got a small garden salad for $9.99 which I felt was a bit overpriced with only lettuce, onion, tomato, and crouton. They have a ton of burgers on the menu here and some inventive options. A bunch of handhelds which are sandwiches, salads, and entrees with fish. Also a ton of starters and apps. Overall, beautiful ambiance outside on the patio with live music and a view of the boardwalk and the sea and a much larger and diverse menu than I expected. ”
